Islamic education
The Muslim, through his
surrender and submission to God Almighty and his firm belief in His ability,
wisdom, good management, and work to worship Him as He commands, acquires
virtues of faith that leave their psychological and heart effects. Faith is
light and tranquility for the heart and mind, it is liberation, dignity, and
pride for the soul, and it is strength and determination that motivates good.
From here was the first basis for spiritual education in Islam.
Planting faith
The method of spiritual
education in Islam began by establishing the word of faith in souls and
entrenching it in the depths of hearts at the beginning of the emergence of
Islam. The period of instilling the truth of faith among the people of Mecca in
that era was long until it reached thirteen years. The Islamic approach was
only concerned with it, even if The word of faith grew, and became a strong
belief in the hearts, and it became prepared to comply with the commands of God
Almighty. Then the legal duties began, including acts of worship, punishments,
and transactions, and then the education and purification of souls from the
remnants of ignorance, its vices, and its deviations began.
Faith School
Faith in God Almighty is the greatest of the blessings with which God honors whomever He wishes of His servants. It is greater than the blessing of existence itself and everything related to existence such as the blessings of sustenance, health, and enjoyment.
Faith was and remains a
moral school, a psychological self-education that makes a person automatically
adhere to moral virtues and set the most wonderful examples of patience,
courage, sacrifice, honesty, and chastity.
Fruits of faith
The fruits of faith and
its good effects on a person’s soul and life are countless. It liberates a
person’s mind and preserves his pride and dignity. The believer knows that God
Almighty alone is the owner of everything, and He is the Lord of the worlds. In
His hand is prevention and giving, benefit and harm, wealth and poverty. Believing
in this truth makes a person liberated. He is not afraid of any force on earth
that might harm him, nor does he expect it to benefit him. He does not extend
his hand. He does not humiliate himself to anyone, and he is freed from
superstitions, misguidance, and false beliefs that restrict his thoughts and
wrap him in the darkness of illusions. Such liberation can only be achieved
through faith in God Almighty.
Satisfaction with God’s will
One of the good fruits
of faith is tranquility and contentment. The believer is in no way despondent
because he knows that God is the owner of the treasures of the heavens and the
earth and that His vast mercy has no limits.
This faith fills his
heart with hope and hope in God’s mercy and grace, and even though he
encounters misery, deprivation, and trials in this world, hope and hope never
leave him, and with strength, he goes through his life as an optimistic worker,
and the unbelievers are deprived of this blessing, so despair takes over them,
and often leads them to Suicide.
Strength and stability
Faith in God makes a
person strong-willed and patient, steadfast like a mountain, regardless of the
difficulties, and makes him watch God Almighty and obey Him in His commands and
prohibitions because he knows that God is with him wherever he is and that he
is aware of his secrets and his revelations. This faith is the basic principle
of Islamic education.
No God except Allah
All goodness and merit
in a person’s life and deeds are only the fruits of the good word of
monotheism, “There is no god but God,” the key to entry into Islam and the
fruits of the light of faith and their practical requirements for worship.
